Punjab – How far yet so near! 

  

Punjab is situated in the northwestern corner of India. It is bounded on the north by the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, on the east by Himachal Pradesh and the union territory of Chandigarh. The majority of the population is Sikh, the largest minority is Hindu, and a very small percentage is Muslim, Buddhist, Christian.  

  

Punjab has an area of 19,445 square miles (50,362 square km) with a population of approx.  22,000,000 Punjab is 5.5 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (+5.5 GMT)
